Born and raised in the Ruhr Area – a paragon for a German worker’s region where people say what they think – Martin loves his job and believes in infinite potential.

Martin started his career as a newspaper journalist while studying at the prestigious Springer School for Journalism.

In 1991, he began working as a news editor at the Berlin office of Bavarian TV station Tele 5, and soon after became head of the Berlin office. It was here where Martin caught the TV bug and learned it was vital to be ahead of the times.

Following this Martin held positions as editor-in-chief at new founded TV station RTL2, and went on to work as writer-director for TV legend Eduard Zimmermann’s programs Aktenzeichen XY… ungelöst and K – Verbrechen im Fadenkreuz.

In 1994 Martin returned to RTL2 and was promoted to head of documentaries. In 1997 he established his own company blue eyes Film & Television GmbH & Co. KG and produced the RTL2 documentary program exklusiv – die reportage. In the next six yearsblue eyes Film & Television GmbH continued to expand and now produces documentaries, features, reality TV and entertainment programs.

Living by his motto “being ahead of the times”, Martin saw an opportunity to expand the blue eyes brand in 2003 and founded blue eyes Fiction with Corinna Mehner who is the current CEO. Martin continues to be a silent partner of the company.

In the following years blue eyes Fiction continued to grow and produced a large body of work while Martins attention turned to the silverscreen.

Martin’s credo is to make movies that will make him go to the movies and so he founded Herzblut Film GmbH on 17th of July in 2012.
